Vineyard Street car park is conveniently located for Lion Walk and Red Lion Yard at just one minute’s walk away. Head for Osbourne Street and follow the signs for the car park or use postcode CO2 7DG for sat nav.

 

Parking Deals

There are some great parking deals available to visitors – from £3.50 all day at St John’s to only 50p on Sundays at selected sites.

Find us by rail

Find us by bus

First Group bus routes via Colchester town centre go past Lion Walk on a regular basis. To plan your journey, visit www.firstgroup.com or call 0871 200 2233.

 

Park & Ride

Colchester’s Park & Ride is now open – located just off Junction 28 of the A12.

  • Buses do a loop of the town before heading back
  • Service runs Monday to Saturday
  • Adult daily tickets £3
  • Adult weekly season ticket £12
  • Adult monthly season ticket £48
  • Children (aged between 5 and 15 years inclusive) – daily £1
  • Children under 5 years old travel for free at all times
  • Buses depart from Park & Ride from 7am, the last bus to the Park & Ride leaves just before 7pm
  • Buses run every 15 minutes (more often at peak times)

Bike and Cycle 

Hire a bike and eclectic bike in Colchester.

Both Colchester town and much of the area surrounding the town are excellent for cycling, and you’ll find a number of great routes to follow such as the Colchester Orbital. If you want to hire a bicycle or e-bike during your time in Colchester then here are some options you can try:

Colchester Sports Park – you can hire a bicycle from Colchester Sports Park for around £10 per hour, there’s a good selection of road bikes and mountain bikes.

Colchester eCargo Bike Library at Colchester Secure Bike Park – if you want an e-bike then you can hire a few different models from the Colchester eCargo Bike Library, a £50 deposit is needed but the cost is very reasonable at £10 per 4 hours.

Fat LLama – you can use the Fat Llama online rental service to rent a bike from someone local, this is a really affordable option which can be as cheap as £10 per day.

New Town Bike Hub – this is a new offering run by local volunteers which allows you to hire an e-bike, send a message through the contact form on the website if you’re interested.

Electronic Vehicles – Zap-Map

Zap-Map is focused on providing the best possible information to support the growing Electric Vehicle community. Users can submit a new charge point for inclusion and report an issue with an existing unit.
